The 2026 Korea Science Festival with Jeonbuk Science Festival will be held for 3 days from October 16 to 18, 2026, at the main sports field and Harim Mission Hall of Jeonju University in Jeonbuk. It is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Jeonbuk State and the Jeonbuk State Office of Education, and organized by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, Jeonbuk Technopark and the Jeonbuk Science Culture Hub Center.
This year's theme is 'A Moving World, a New Future Opened by Physical AI!' The festival is designed so that visitors encounter artificial intelligence not only as on-screen technology but in forms that move and operate in the real world, such as robots and sensors, with a focus on letting residents physically experience physical AI, a future industry for Jeonbuk. In connection with the Korea Science Festival, research institutes and universities from outside the province, including national science museums, will also take part, with a main aim of broadening residents' opportunities to enjoy science culture.
On the first day, October 16, the opening ceremony will be held at the main sports field for 1 hour from 2 p.m. A pre-show performance will be followed by the presentation of the Jeonbuk Science and Technology Awards and the Student Science Invention Awards, and then a booth tour by attendees.
The exhibitions at the main sports field are divided into the Physical AI Pavilion, which showcases the physical AI theme; the Science Culture Pavilion, where visitors can try new AI technologies; the Science and Technology Pavilion, which introduces advanced science and technology from government-funded research institutes, research institutions and universities; and the Science Experience Pavilion, run directly by elementary, middle and high schools in the province. In total, institutions, universities, companies and schools will operate more than 80 booths. Research results in AI, bio, energy and mobility will be presented as hands-on content tailored to children, teenagers and general visitors.
At Harim Mission Hall, competitions and educational programs will run on the second and final days of the festival, October 17 and 18. The 'Jeonbuk Physical AI Future Talent Challenge' will be held, along with educational programs and exhibitions.
Overall operating hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The main sports field exhibitions open at 1 p.m. on October 16 only and close at 3 p.m. on the final day, October 18. Harim Mission Hall programs also end at 3 p.m. on October 18. There is no age restriction for visitors. For inquiries, call 063-260-9332.
