The '2026 Korea Forest Expo,' which introduces the value of forests along with forest policy and industry, will be held for 3 days from October 16 to 18 in and around Saengmyeongnuri Park in Cheongju City, Chungbuk (North Chungcheong Province). The expo consists of ceremonies, forums, performances and hands-on booths.
This year's expo focuses on informing visitors about the public value of forests as well as the current state of forest policy and related industries. On the first day, October 16 (Friday), an opening ceremony will be held together with a Mountain Day ceremony, and a forest management field case pavilion showing real examples of forest management will also be operated.
On October 17 (Saturday), the Forest Youth Forum will be held, where the younger generation will discuss the future of forests. On the final day, October 18 (Sunday), the Forest Golden Bell, a forest knowledge quiz competition, will take place, followed by the music concert 'Gaeul Sopung' (Autumn Picnic) and a closing program to wrap up the event. Cultural and arts performances will continue throughout all 3 days, and Cheongju's largest fireworks display is also scheduled during the event period.
Promotional and exhibition booths from forest-related organisations will be set up at the venue, and hands-on forest experience booths will run woodworking, forest healing and companion plant programs for visitors. Sales booths where visitors can buy forest products, the Chungbuk Craft Fair and a TFS tent exhibition will also be available.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and booths operate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is no age restriction for visitors. For more information, call 043-201-2312.
