The '2026 Chungcheongnam-do Drone Festa', which brings together drone competitions, academic exchange and a large-scale drone performance, will be held on October 17 in Chungnam (South Chungcheong Province). The event runs for that 1 day from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and anyone can attend with no age restrictions.

The event is a comprehensive drone event that runs a competition, a conference, a drone light show, and exhibitions and hands-on activities together. It is organised to cover drones in various ways, from industry discussions to piloting experiences for general visitors.

At the National Drone Competition, one of the central programmes, participants will compete in piloting skill and mission performance through a Precision Piloting Mission Challenge and a Search Mission Challenge. It is a nationwide competition open to all citizens. At the Drone Conference, experts from industry, academia, research institutes and government bodies will discuss the direction of development for the drone industry and ways to use drones in the region.

The signature programme, the Drone Light Show, will use more than 1,200 drones. The drones are scheduled to draw Chungnam's provincial administration vision and key policy messages in the night sky. Celebratory performances by singers will also be held.

In the exhibition and hands-on area, various types of drones and the latest technologies will be introduced, and there will be hands-on sessions where visitors can pilot drones themselves, along with participatory programmes. As a side event, 15 cities and counties in the province will run promotional booths. Inquiries about the event can be made at 041-635-4797.
